Cleveland Auto-RamaCleveland IX Center

The Lake Erie Racing Team was invited to participate in the 2006 Auto-Rama at the
Cleveland International Exposition (IX) Center.
We were given space in the Norwalk Raceway Park
booth and shared the display with several awesome high performance drag racing machines.
There were many spectators and we were well received by all the enthusiastic folks that came by to check out our Nitro Harley and speak wit the crew. We were more than happy to give some of the youngsters a thrill by letting them sit on our drag bike and take pictures. The team had a table with some of our most notable trophies and hand outs for the public. We were happy to distribute Posters and Discount Coupons for the upcoming Buckeye Nationals being held this June 10th and 11th at our hometown track in Norwalk, Ohio as well as the 2006 racing schedule courtesy of the AHDRA. |
Florida Bike Week NationalsGainesville, Florida

Lake Erie Racing was back at the track under the sunny skies of Florida to kick off the 2006 season.
It was great to be back at the track after the long, cold, Cleveland winter. It was nice to see the old familiar faces
of our competitors and friends. We were especially happy to have a visit from John Martin and Anne Phipps.
We made several modifications to the bike in hopes of improving our performance. Even after taking the championship last year we know that Jay Turner was riding strong and fast last season. Unfortunately, we hadn't gotten all the bugs worked out and during the first round of qualifying we had an explosion at the starting line. It was back to the pits for our well rehearsed frantic repairs. On the 3rd round we managed to get out rip down the track but had spun the tire and placed 5th qualifier. Elimination day we had the bike ready to roll and went out to pound out some good hard racing. Once again, we spun the tire and had to face an early elimination. We sure could have used a few more passes to get everything dialed in. |
2005 Championship Party
|
|---|
For the second time Curtis did what he always does best. Many thanks go out to him for the great victory
party he hosted for us at his tavern, Little Kings Lounge.
There was plenty of food and liquid refreshments with prizes being raffled off. It was nice to be out with our sponsors
and friends who helped us celebrate a hard earned National Championship in 2005.
There was media coverage as the folks from Free Wheelin' Magazine came out to take photos and write a news article for an up coming issue. We had our National and Eastern Championship trophies on display. The music was rockin' and everyone was rollin'. Curtis has established a corner stone and Cleveland icon with his business as he celebrates his 19th anniversary of being in business at Payne Ave. and 31st Street (originally near 30th street). |
