Mid-Atlantic Nationals Maryland International Raceway Mechanicsville, Maryland July 16th and 17th, 2005

The weather was our worst enemy in Maryland. The temperature hovered around 100 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity was stifling. FBM qualified 4th behind Jay Turner, Sam White, and Armon Furr while just ahead of rival Mike Lehman. Chris was not feeling his best but managed to keep the bike going straight down the track.    With the blistering heat we decided to treat ourselves to a shower and air conditioning by finding a hotel about 20 miles from the track. We had brought ribs to cook out and found there was a balcony outside our window but the door had been sealed off. Climbing out the window we managed to light our charcoal grill and had ourselves a midnight Bar-B-Que!!!    We suffered a semi-final elimination but not until after beating Mike Lehman in the first round. A rain shower came down delaying the finals but the water didn't last on the hot pavement.
