Las Vegas Nationals The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway November 12th and 13th, 2005

It was banner year for the FBM Racing Team. We started out the year strong winning 4 out of our first 5 races. The team managed to attend all but one of the points races during the season. We had our eye on the goal of winning the National Title once again and with a lot of hard work and determination we managed to pull it off.    We arrived a day early in Las Vegas. We had given ourselves extra time just in case we ran into trouble on the way out with the old school bus. The plan was to get in several rounds of testing and tuning on Friday night. Unfortunately we had problems getting the RPM sensor to read on the computer and spent a good part of the day troubleshooting. With the extra time we also changed out our tire and chain. As the day progressed, the temperature dropped and the winds had been gusting all day. It was just as well we waited for Saturday to go out and qualify.    On our first round of qualifying we busted out a great pass and held the number 2 spot just ahead of Mike Lehman and behind Jay Turner. Later in the day we were passed up by Mike and didn't get in another good pass putting us in 3rd place.    In the end we won both the Eastern Division and National Championships. We were in good company all weekend with friends and family that came to Las Vegas to watch us race and win. The long trip home was less bothersome while we were still glowing with pride and a great sence of accomplishment.    Special thanks to Chuck Krimm who came all the way from Alaska to hang out with us and cooked up some delicious Alaskan salmon. It was also great to see Scott and Clair along with Ken and Diane who came to see us from Phoenix. John Streeter came out to see us as well. We have the best family and friends.    Our thanks go out to all our friends and sponsors. Without your support and encouragement we could never have been able to be the top contenders. With your continued help, we are looking forward to coming out again next year even stronger and more agresive ready to show that hard work and dedication can get a team farther than all the money can buy.
