JIMS Las Vegas Nationals Las Vegas, Nevada, October 18th and 19th, 2003
The Grand Finally! Chris Streeter broke his arm at work just before we left for Las Vegas. Our founder, Fuel Bike Mike, stepped up and rode down the track for the FBM Team on Chris's nitro-bike to give us one last race for the 2003 season. Even though we had the National locked-up, the team shows competitive spirit right to the end.
It has been a great racing season for the FBM Racing Team. The program has matured and the team has grown with it. Our new uniforms gave us the professional look of a championship racing operation. The many cross country trips took its toll on the team members and our old school bus but there was no stopping this group of dedicated, hard working sportsmen. We want to thank all our friends and sponsors for your support and encouragement. We could never have gotten this far without all of your help. No one is as lucky as we are when it comes to having such loving, understanding families. Thanks Again!
This race was Mike's opportunity to ride Chris's bike for the first time. He was going to ride the motorcycle during a local race at Quaker City in Salem, Ohio but we ended up not attending that event. During qualifying Mike made adjustments and familiarized himself with the bike. He qualified 6th and we were ready to rumble in the start of the eliminations. Unfortunately, an oil breather line came loose and an official spotted it and shut us down at the starting line. We went back for one more attempt with the "Outlaw" race. We needed 3 good passes to get a hi average but after the first pass our motor showed damage and it was time to finally throw in the towel.
The 2003 FBM Racing Team Chris gives credit and mention to his team during his speach at the awards ceremony. The crew works hard to make FBM a highly competitive, 1st class, professional program.
