FBM Racing Team

Northwest Nationals

Woodburn Dragstrip
Woodburn, Oregon
August 27th and 28th, 2005

FBM gets a lift for our bike and equipment allowing us to participate in the Northwest Nationals. Tracy Kile and the guys from Bad Apple Racing hauled our stuff clear across the country and share their pits with us for the event.
Our friend and fellow racer Mike Lehman found himself alone in the pits as his team was cleaning up from Hurricane Katrina. We lent him a hand so he could get out and compete.
During the 1st round of elimination we hurt our motor and scramble to get things fixed. We were lucky enough to bring the right spare parts but needed a machine shop to finish turning down the buttons on the piston to match our cylinder. Thanks to one of the locals, we got the piston machined and the bike rebuilt for the next day.
We were ready for eliminations and busted out a great pass winning round 1 on Sunday. Unfortunately, there was a tragic accident and the race was halted then later canceled. A fellow competitor was involved in a fatal accident. Best wishes to the family, friends, and team of ET (Mo) Rockefeller. We are deeply saddened at your loss.
